Through a series of interactive workshops, youth participants learn and discuss rights and legal questions relevant to their own lives, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What are your rights regarding medical care and consent?<\/li>\n<li>When can you leave home?<\/li>\n<li>If you are in the care of a children&#8217;s aid society, when can you leave care? How and when can you choose to go A.W.O.L?<\/li>\n<li>How can you challenge suspension or expulsion from school?<\/li>\n<li>How to deal with unfair treatment due to race, sexual orientation, or mental or physical condition?<\/li>\n<li>What are your rights as a youth offender, or as a victim of crime?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8230;and many more.<\/p>\n<p>The program is divided into four workshop sessions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Your Rights<\/li>\n<li>Living<\/li>\n<li>Learning and Working<\/li>\n<li>Crimes You Commit, and Crimes Committed Against You<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Law and Youth is a public legal education program spear-headed by Toronto lawyer Jeffery Wilson, and presented in partnership with DCI-Canada and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.covenanthouse.on.ca\">Covenant House Toronto<\/a>.
