About the Convention on the Rights of the Child


The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is a United Nations treaty. It is the most widely-adopted human rights treaty in the world, having been ratified by 192 countries. The CRC was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1989. Canada ratified the CRC on December 13, 1991.

Reports to the Committee on the Rights of the Child

Since ratifying the CRC in 1991, Canada has made two reports to the Committee on the Rights of the Child.
